Rain and a car show

After 18 dry days we finally got a little liquid love from
above. It only rained long enough to wet the pavement and
raise the humidity, but we’ll take it. We need a little more

When things like this happen I’m reminded that a thermometer
is needed in the office. It has natural heating and cooling,
it’s hot in the summer and cool in the winter.

And starting tomorrow, the 10th Annual Heartland Nova Reunion
will be at Isle of Capri Casino in Bettendorf, Iowa. This event
will be located in the northeast parking lot and will run until
around 2 pm Saturday. This even is free for spectators. This
show is for Novas only and we’re told this one will have one of
the biggest assortments of Novas and Chevy IIs in our area.

Friday from 7-9 pm the Neverly Brothers will play inside the
casino. We’re told this is a great band who play everything
from Elvis to the Beatles and admission for this event is $10.

The proceeds from the 50/50 drawing will go to the charity
Retrieving Freedom, there will be trophies, and the show is
participant judged. There will be vendors and a lot more. The
Casino is located at 1777 Isle Parkway in Bettendorf, Iowa.

Great show, great cars, and a good group of enthusiasts to
check out. It’s not supposed to rain this weekend and might
even cool off a little so those won’t work for excuses.

Enjoy our Wednesday, we’re halfway to weekend.
Comments are always welcome.

Sounds like it will be a great time. I need to see if I can locate any car club events close to me.

The show actually ends around 2:00 on Saturday, not Sunday. I would like to invite everyone to come on Friday, maybe after work, and stay for the band. These guys are really good! If you are not interested in the band, I would suggest you stop by Saturday, mid-morning to see the largest number of Novas. Unfortunately, some people have to work all week and can’t make it till Saturday morning. If you know me, be sure to look me up and say hi. I’ll show you what I brought. Thanks for the post Cruiser, I hope to see you there.

    Dale Gilmour,
I changed the post to get it right and I’ll try to make it out Friday or Saturday. Is the Casino still in downtown Bettendorf or did it move? I don’t gamble and it has been a while since I’ve been out there.

The casino is in downtown Bettendorf. When you come over the bridge, across the tracks, toward the river, you will come to a “T” intersection. Turn left and follow the road all the way around the complex to the east side. We will be in the northeast lot on the east side of the casino. I’m not a gambler either.

I went to the show at the Riverside Casino a few years back. Enjoyed the selection of cars. Have a friend ho is a member. I am surprised she hasn’t mentioned it.

    Ron Walker,
sorry I didn’t comment sooner but your replies went to the spam filter for some reason. If you know of any car clubs in your area that have websites they usually post events there.
