Crying shame

Yesterday was a wet day here on the east coast of Iowa as the
rain came down so hard it almost floated us downriver. Shortly
after my first cup of coffee came news of the ambush, and death
of two Des Moines area police officers.

When updates from the media claimed the shooter was in police
custody after he found a DNR employee on a gravel road and
calmly told them to call 911 I felt the man must have mental
issues. At the time some said the police should have shot
him dead while others thought we need to bring back the

Once things calm down and disbelief turns into realization, I
think this will be another case of someone who is crazier than
an outhouse rat had access to firearms. And that will be a
rally cry for the anti-gun groups to call for more gun control.

But no matter how it turns out two officers are dead and
their families, friends, and our entire state, are mourning
their loss. Prayer chains have been started and flags all
across Iowa are at half staff. I’d like to think the rain
yesterday was all the Angels from Iowa crying.

Enjoy your Thursday and God bless America.
Comments are always welcome.

As I heard the breaking news of the ambush and shooting death of those two officers I said a prayer for their families. The actor as you said is prob as crazy as a loon and my first thought was they should’ve shot him on the spot, but that’s not the answer sad to say. He’ll get his day in court~something he didn’t give those officers and he killed them in cold blood. God bless all LE across the nation, but esp those in Iowa.

the guy got out of his Mothers’ basement because he beat on her.
When arrested the cuffs of both dead officers were used on him.
Since Iowa doesn’t have the death penalty, I hope he gets life
    without parole.

Oh my his poor mother, I hope she’s alright.

Somebody was thinking quickly on their feet when they used the officer’s cuffs on the perp. Betting he pleads insanity at time of the murders~what’s your take?

No DP makes this a much worse situation IMO~we still have the DP, but we’ve not executed anybody for awhile and the current Gov wants to change it~I sure hope he doesn’t succeed. I think he should get 100 yrs + life with no parole to insure he never sees the light of day again.

You’d think that there’s been a full moon lately b/c we’ve had murders, attempted murders here in PA and in other states more of the same. Wonder what will happen during the Super Moon on the 14th.

the mother got a restraining order and I’ll bet he claims he’s insane.
I could get behind your plan for his sentence. The upcoming full moon is supposed to be the biggest and brightest since 1948. While that’s great for pictures it will bring all the nuts off the trees to keep
    first responders and hospitals busy.

Pray for the thin, blue line.

  6. cruisin2 says:

    Amen to that.

  7. Mamabear says:

Good for the mother getting a restraining order. Hope all the really crazy ppl are locked up and America remains calm.

Ghost, I pray nightly for many ppl, but esp LE~may God bless each and everyone of them and keep them safe from harm.

Speaking of a ‘Crying Shame’ – This is unbelievable! Maybe Hillary and this anti-Constitutional POS can get adjoining cells?

I don’t know how it is elsewhere but here in Iowa mental health care is hard to come by. That strikes me as odd because more people than ever could use it.

it’ll all be over but the crying in a few days. I know who we voted for and will wait for the results with fingers crossed.
