We have reached October, the tenth month of the year and
that much closer to the election. October is Breast Cancer
Awareness Month, Dwarfism/Little People Awareness Month,
National Arts & Humanities Month, National Cyber Security
Awareness Month, National Domestic Violence Awareness Month,
National Adopt A Shelter Dog Month, and International Walk to
School Month to name a few.
It is also Celiac Sprue Awareness Month, Eczema Awareness
Month, Healthy Lung Month, National Dental Hygene Month,
National Down Syndrome Awareness Month, and National Physical
Therapy Month also.
The reason I love October is because it’s National Pizza
Month, National Popcorn Poppin’ Month, National Pork Month,
National Sausage Month, and American Cheese Month too. And of
course Oktoberfest is celebrated around the globe.
Starting today is Customer Service Week and Mental Illness
Awareness week. Next week is Fire Prevention Week, and so on.
Today, October 2, is National Custodial Workers Recognition
Day, National Fried Scallops Day, and National Name Your Car
No, we didn’t forget Halloween which will be October 31st.
Some may call this All Hallows’ Eve or All Saints’ Eve so
we’ll add them to lessen the chance that someone may be
offended. We should also warn those easily offended that it
gets darker earlier this time of year.
So now we know a few things to celebrate this month, or
observe if you don’t drink. Good thing I laid in a supply of
pizza. Enjoy October.
