Independence Day

f 099

The 4th of July will be here shortly and for those who
don’t know, Independence Day is a celebration of the day
in 1776 that the Declaration of Independence was adopted by
the Continental Congress signifying the end of British rule.

Many people associate parades, fireworks, picnics, and
concerts with the holiday but it is really about a group of
men who got tired of a corrupt government and decided it
was worth fighting over.

In today’s politically correct society these men would be
branded racist, sexist, war mongers, and domestic
terrorists yet they did win our freedom.

So enjoy the hot dogs and apple pie, parades and
fireworks. All we ask is that you remember that freedom
isn’t free, and we are always one generation away from the
possibility of losing it. Thank you and enjoy the holiday.
Comments are always welcome.
