Almost went back to bed

DSC00001

When I finally made it outside to gather some tools,
the cloud filled sky welcomed me like an old friend.
We still have wind gusts strong enough to knock down
a skinny person or small pet, but what a sight.

In the basement, tools in hand, I decided I was just
the person to fix the furnace that had quit working.
After all, I know absolutely nothing about furnaces
save for replacing batteries in the thermostat, but I
was available.

After shutting off the breaker to the furnace so I
wouldn’t get knocked on my butt I decided to delve
inside the mysterious beast. Once I got the panels off
I vacuumed up what looked like it wouldn’t damage
anything and checked all connections.

That did nothing to improve the performance of said
furnace so I consulted an expert called the internet.
Turned out the flame sensor needed cleaning so I
performed that task, put the bottom panel back on,
turned the circuit breaker on, and held my breath. It
worked!

I know it’s a temporary fix and the flame sensor will
need to be replaced but now it will work until we get
a professional to replace it. As a bonus we now have
an outlet, ceiling fan, an light working again as I
noticed some loose wires that must have happened when
the raccoon got in our basement.

All that’s left is pick up all the tools and return
them to their proper places and I’m a happy oldfart.
Enjoy your day and remember: don’t give up on your
dreams, if nothing works you can always climb back in
bed, go to sleep, and make a new one.
Comments are always welcome.

    Ghost,
I don’t know what a liberal would do. Sounds like a plan for next week, I’ll get back to you on that. It’s total chaos around here right now.
