We left the east coast of Iowa in the wee hours of the morning pushing through fog so thick you could cut it with a knife. Around 10 am we were in Des Moines, and shortly after noon we cruised into Omaha. We have not seen the sun all day although assume it was somewhere.
I didn’t get any pictures today for two reasons. I don’t like to take pictures while cruising down the interstate at 85 mph, and it was so gloomy all day they would probably look blurry if I did. We stopped for the night in Paxton, Nebraska due to fatigue.
Dinner at a place called Oli’s Steak House was well worth the stop. The place had more mounted animal heads than I’ve seen in one place before and the best grilled bacon cheeseburgers. I will get pictures, and share some from the wife at some point.
An odd twist is the guy who runs the motel here used to live in Davenport, Iowa and ran a motel there. Like they say, it’s a small world. There was supposed to snow here when we arrived but somebody forgot to tell mother nature. I’m not going for a pizza but will close here anywhere to rest up for the adventures awaiting tomorrow. We’re about a third of the way to Idaho and hope to better that by quite a bit tomorrow. Keep the shiny side up.
Comments are always welcome.
