This shouldn’t happen on our watch

Here is some news you may not have heard about
yet. The first is local the other national. We feel
both are important enough to share.

Early this morning Davenport Police were called to
an area around 4th and Marquette streets concerning
a person with a gunshot wound. Said person was
located and had life threatening injuries. They
were then taken to Genesis East hospital and later
died. The name hasn’t been released yet until the
family is notified. If you have any information you
are asked to call the DPD at 563-326-6125.

Yesterday a Ft Jackson Soldier took his own life.
WE HAVE TO ALL STEP UP. Talking to your Service
member or Veteran is IMPORTANT. Ask if they are
suicidal. Call the authorities if this is the step
that saves a life. Call the Crisis Line 1-800-273-8255.

someone during their darkness, and get them to call
the crisis line, you can save them. Send them our way
after this to help take their stresses and issues off
the table.

Remember the crisis line number 1-800-273-8255. If
you run into someone with a problem please share it
with them. 22 veterans a day commit suicide and the
active duty numbers are rising.
Comments are always welcome.
