So we’ll pretend, for the sake of argument,
that it is factual.
According to this chart, the number one weapon
used in violent crimes is not the handgun, it
is the baseball bat! So let’s take a look at
some of the things that kill us.
According to the chart, tobacco use is the
number one killer in our country.
We find it interesting that medical errors
kill over sixteen times as many of us as
Alcohol abuse kills over nine times as many
Americans per year than firearms.
Motor vehicle accidents kill over three
times as many of us as firearms.
In fact, of the top 10 “killers” in the US,
firearms come in tenth. And this despite the
fact that there are between 280-320 million
So if we outlawed smoking, doctors, alcohol,
cars, and ball bats, perhaps our dreaded guns
would have a high enough percentage to make
them an issue.
Here is a suggestion, if my 100 year-old
shotgun bothers you, deal with it. Just don’t
confiscate my antique baseball bat.
