Snow and a show

We just got done removing the over
3 inches of global warming that fell
overnight. We even got the snow off
our satellite dish so our TVs would
work.

It is a mystery to us why the city
doesn’t have the streets cleared
from the snow routes yet. After all,
the city did declare a ‘snow
emergency’.

It must not have been an emergency
in our little corner of the city.
When the wife got home she mentioned
that she didn’t see any side streets
plowed.

And snow always makes us think of
indoor car shows. February 25 & 26
is the Rod & Custom Car Show at the
Berndes Center, 766 N. Maple Street,
in Monticello, Iowa.

Hours of the show are Saturday 11
am to 11 pm, and Sunday 8 am to 8 pm.
John Schneider is guest, and Dave
Palmer from 3D Sound will emcee.

So there is a little snow & go to
plan your weekend, or you could just
stay home with a good book.
Comments are always welcome.

Telegraph & Fairmount was plowed by 6AM Seems to be hit or miss anymore

  2. Anonymous says:

They had two plows on our street last night at 10:00 N.E.Davenport, at that time very little snow.

  3. cruisin2 says:

The plows just slushed in the end of our alley about 10 milutes ago,
and we’re on a bus route.

  4. Anon. says:

Snow routes plowed first are in the part of town that has garbage pick up. Friday/Saturday pick ups are in the western part of town, so they were plowed first (Telegraph/Fairmount). The accumulation had not reached an inch until just after midnight and 2 inches until later than that. That’s when plowing started in earnest.

As the snow season comes to an end I’ve been wondering. Are we going to still pay our underpaid, over worked city employees the over time that they would have earned during a normal winter? Or will our Mayor and council be forced to take an extra “business” trip to places unknown. Lord knows we can’t leave that money unspent.

  6. anonymous says:

Funny you should mention a trip. Glubber and his buddies are discussing a “sister cities” trip.

Those are the kings of taxpayer ripoffs.

    Anon,
They used to at least do a pass with salt.

    Old Guy in Davenport,
Interesting, we always hear when there is more snow and it costs more.

    anonymous,
And he has to run after Obama when summoned.
