Doctors With a Heart

The following is a news release from Doc. He’s in his new office and has an upcoming event. It looks like he has a good cause he’s trying to raise a little for so if you’ve never gone to see him before now may be the time.

Dr James Davis, local doctor of Chiropractic, will be having Doctors With A Heart Day on Valentine’s Day, Sunday, February 14th, from 9:00 am till 1:00 pm. Anyone who has never been treated by Davis will receive a “Free” Orthopedic/Neurologic Exam, for a monetary donation. Current patients
will receive a Chiropractic adjustment, also for a donation. All money will be presented to Family Resources,Inc., of Davenport. Doctors With A Heart (DWAH) is comprised of chiropractors, medical doctors, osteopaths, dentists, psychologists, and other professionals who saw the need to
reach out to those people in their community who had a hard time affording the services they needed. Founded by Iowa dentist Dr. Duane Schmidt, the charity has become the largest doctor charity in the world. Doctors who participate in DWAH donate their services each Valentine’s Day, or
other days of the year, to anyone who needs it. It’s an opportunity to make a generous contribution to the community and a wonderful way to help many who might otherwise not receive the care they need. Because some patients feel reluctant to receive free care, doctors also accept non-
perishables or monetary donations for a local charity of the doctor’s choice. Dr. Jim Davis has been practicing Chiropractic for over 29 years in the Quad Cities. Doc’s office is located at 1706 Brady St., Suite 104; Midtown Plaza. There may be food and beverages for those attending, if Doc can
find some businesses willing to donate needed items. Hopefully there will be some flowers to hand out to those present. The Domestic Violence Advocacy Program of Family Resources, Inc. has been a cornerstone of safety for thousands of survivors and their children for more than 25 years.
The Domestic Violence Shelter has provided a safe haven for women and children fleeing domestic violence since 1992. The program responds to the needs of the community by providing 24-hour crisis lines, accompanying victims to the court, supporting victims at local hospitals and clinics, providing counseling and groups and offering shelter to women and children impacted by domestic violence.

At one time Doc was going to try and start a deal where seniors would walk together to stay healthy. Do you know if Doc ever got this thing going?

    Anonymous,
You’d have to ask Doc. If I remember correctly, when he was running for mayor he said he do a “Walk with Doc” if elected. I’ll get hold of him at some point this week and see what’s up.
