Racism guest post

This is a guest post. It was posted on MySpace by a young
man who just graduated high school. It may be offensive to
some, but we think the young man gets his point accross.
That being said, feel free to label us as racist, or sexist,
or whatever the current label is for those who don’t cruise
with the main pack. It wasn’t posted by our son, but our
son does know the poster. And now, the guest post-

You call me: redneck, hillbilly, slaker, cracker, honkey,
whitey, sage, white girl/boy, and you think it’s ok.

But when I call you: jungle bunny, spear chunker, coon,
wet back, jiggaboo, porch monkey, rag head, towelhead,
camel jockey, gook, spook, kike, slant eyes, or chink,
you call me a racist.

You have the United Negro College Fund. You have Martin
Luther King Day. You have Black History Month. You have
Cesar Chavez Day. You have Yom Hashoah. You have Ma’uled
Al-Nabi. You have the NAACP. You have the BET.

If we had WET (white entertainment television)…we’d be
racist. If we had white pride day…you’d call us racist.
If we had white history month…we’d be racist. If we had
an organization for only whites to “advance” our lives…
we’d be racist. If we had a college fund that only gave
white students scholarships…you know we’d be racist. In
the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching
for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and
rights…you would call us racist.

Did you know that some high school students decided to make
a club for only white students because the other ethnicities
had them. They all got sent to court for being racist but the
african-american, Latino, and Asia clubs were not even
questioned!

You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and
you’re not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our
white pride, you call us racist.

I am white. And I am proud.
Now watch, I’ll be racist for reposting this.

That’s a young mans take, he’s seventeen and a graduate. As
you may have guessed, he’s also proud of his heritage. We
didn’t change any spelling or punctuation. As is always the
case, comments on the guest post, or just about anything else
are welcome.

Sounds like he spoke his piece in a very factual manner.

  2. Robbie Says:

i understand and appreciate the argument. i just think its a tired one.

when i was younger i used to play devils advocate and try that same response. i woudl try the godo ole line of ‘black people have BET, what do white people have?’ then i realized that white people have ALL THE OTHER CHANNELS! i mean c’mon, Friends? Frasier? Cheers? M.A.S.H.? Everybody Loves Raymond? we could go on for hours naming the shows that are very much targeted towards white audiences. heck, most of the mainstream shows don’t even have a main character who isn’t white. so forgive me if i don’t feel much sympathy for myself or the other oppressed white men of this country.

it’s the same thing with women. they felt that they were underrepresented in television so they started lifetime, the oxygen channel, and all those other cable channels from roughly 60-80 that i rarely stop on!

i just really feel like when people play the ‘poor poor white guy’ card that its kinda selfish. women and minorities have been mistreated in this country for a long time. the least we can do is let them have some cable channels and a few social clubs without bothering them.

    my 2 cents at least.

    scoundrel,
    That’s what we thought.

    Robbie,
We can see where got that take from, but isn’t he also saying that he feels whites have more preudice against them then other ethnic groups. As for people who have relatives who mistreated by past generations, we will state again; none of the abuse or mistreatment was done by us or our ancestors. While we do feel it was wrong when it happened, where does someone draw the line?

  4. Robbie Says:

yeah its definitely a gray area all around. i certainly have no answers. and i see both sides. i just feel even in this day and age of acceptance and equality, that minorities and women still get the short end of the stick. and i am not advocating reparations for slave descendants or anything like that, i just think that when people start going into the whole oppressed white people theory its just a rouse for a gigantic pity party.

though regarding the whole concept of europeans f-ing up everyone, in a way its still an active issue. their colonization of africa and subsequent nationalization of countries has led to many of the conflicts we see today. its unfortunately still a pretty big problem we deal with every day.

  5. Fair and Balanced Says:

At least FOX News is doing something to balance this racism out.

In response to a number of complaints that FOX News doesn’t show enough Black and Hispanic people on the network, FOX has announced that they will now air ‘ America ’s Most Wanted’ TWICE a week.
