Election, boogie woogie open thread

The QC Times came out with their endorsments today. Of course it is very different from ours. To see their endorsements-

If you have webtv, go here.

Also remember the blogs have information on this also. Beyond a doubt Snarky has the most information, but most the other sites have something on them also. We need to educate ourselves before we vote, do so intelligently and in bigger numbers. If you feel strongly about your candidate(s), then vote. Even if you don’t have a favorite, vote.

After you do all the research you can ‘Boogie through life with Grandma Faith’. If you’re old enough to remember boogie woogie music, turn the speakers up and you can take a stroll down memory lane by checking out-

We haven’t heard any more on the Rockabilly Reunion that’s going to happening today and tomorrow. If we find anything out later we’ll let you know. We’ll try an open thread again so comments on any subject are welcome.

December can`t come quick enough if that means getting rid of Jamie Howard off council. At Thursday`s committee meetings she had Keith Meyer`s microphone turned OFF more than she had it on. We want to hear what Keith has to say, and just because she doesn`t agree with him, she has no right to cut off his mike.

    anon,
It amazes us that everybody else doesn’t pick up on all the dirty tricks Alderman Meyer has to put up with. If I were in his seat there would be more than one black eye down there. That is not a racist remark, I mean I’d nail em’.

No big surprise in today`s QCTimes that they are backing Bill Boom. The good thing is - Tory B isn`t going to vote in the 3rd ward.

The hard working people of the third ward need Keith Meyer to look out for them, and he always tries his best to make sure that tax dollars are wisely spent.

The QCTimes editorial staff is only pushing for Boom so we can waste some more money downtown on some more amenities that NOBODY USES and are failing misserably.

Davenport needs Keith Meyer to be re-elected Tuesday.

I just watched the meeting online, she let him talk longer than she should have. He was accusing people of committing fraud because he didn’t fully read the previous reports.

Meyer was at his ranting and raving best during the recent committee meetings but he again went a little too far when he bacically accused the staff of being liars and perpetrating a fraud. It’s this type of conduct which which has created the problems at city hall along with his little fiasco at the skatepark and his unprofessional conduct at the church on Marquette street to name a few.

It’s too bad that a 66 year old man, who obviously has some potential, has yet to learn anything about the fine art of dealing with people. To disagree without being disagreeable is not just an old saying, it’s something that Meyer should take a hard look at and try to live by during his remaing time on the council.

It certainly is time for a change in the 3rd ward, we desperately need someone who can express their opinion and argue their position without making a spectacle of themselves.

QCI has sure been quiet about the upcomming elections. Shocking to say the least.

  7. anonymous Says:

Saturday`s QCTimes has a story about campaign finances for the Mayoral race, and they list Rita Vargas as the Scott County Treasurer. They better check the facts again.

It is obvious that nobody on the editoral staff checks and double checks those stories.
