Check out the contents of this barn.
A married couple bought some property in Portugal. The property
had a lovely farmhouse and a large barn. No one had lived in the
house or on the property for 15 years.
The new owner, while exploring their property, decided to look
in the barn, which they had not entered before purchasing the
property. The barn door was padlocked and welded shut.
The new owners ground off the padlock and the welds, and voila!Unbelievable!

Sorry Cruiser, this is one of those internet stories, the owner of the barn was a car dealer back in the 70s and 80s and had hired a photographer to document his collection. It is quite a collection though, someone went through all of the available photographs and came up with a partial list. It is at http://www.sportscarmarket.com/portugesebarnfind.pdf

Ilcantar,
Thanks for clearing that up. I should have checked it, but like you said, it’s quite a collection. Neat pictures too.

Its too bad, because that makes a hell of a story. I was thinking maybe they were all stolen or something, considering that many seem to still have plates. The collector gradually adding cars thing does explain why some are dustier than others though.

All those cars and not one corvette, what a shame.

yeah, it’s always best to run news or email forwards like this by snopes.com or breakthechain.org. sometimes they’re half-truths, sometimes full, sometimes nada. while we’re talking about cars, cruiser – do you know who owns this?

I don’t know who owns the 55′, but if we run into some Cruiser members at the Flying Eyeball show, I’ll ask around.

thanks. it’s no big deal really, but my dad’s been in the scene for about 4 decades and he’s curious because he’s never seen it before, and it’s a local car. keep in mind it’s a ‘56. i’m showing him the pics this weekend.

matt,
Man I have to wear my glasses when I look at this stuff., I could’ve swore it was a 55′. To me it is a big deal. Most car guys like to talk about their cars and what they’ve done to them. In a hobby that gets more expensive every year, we need more people getting involved. Sounds like your dads been in the hobby about as long as I have. It’s sure changed in the 40 years I’ve been involved. I’ll check around and see what I can find out.
