3rd Street Mart license revoked

After I read shelleys’ post on QCIs’ open thread we recieved a copy of the decision. This thing reads like the Godfather or something. I believe it creates more questions than it answers. You should read the proposed decision for yourself. I should warn you it’s rather lengthy. I’m going to hold my take on it for a little while and look it over better, but as you always know comments are welcome.

——————–Addendum————————————————

Found out that if they appeal this decision liquor can be sold until the appeal process has ended. Not real good news, but still closer to the end of the line.

Are there any rumors out there of anyone running for 7th ward alderman besides Alderman Barnhill?

  2. cruiser Says:

I haven’t heard any rumors about the 7th ward. Here’s the rumors-
    Jamie Howard Mayor
    Alderman Lynn Alderman-at-large
    Wally 5th ward

Anybody have any more feel free to post them.

  3. Joe Ameican Says:

    Mike Matson - 8th ward
    Tom Carnahan - 2nd ward
    Wally Skrovonski - 5th ward
    Barney Barnhill - 7th ward
Billy G Lynn - hopefully retirement!

  4. Robin Says:

I can’t confirm any of these but these are the rumors I’ve heard:
    Lynn 5th Ward
    Howard Mayor
    Yerrington Mayor
    Vance at large
Gibbs whatever ward he is in

like I said they are just rumors

  5. Robin Says:

btw I didn’t say I was supporting the above, they are just the rumors I’ve heard

  6. cruiser Says:

Good point Robin. I don’t necessarily support those I mentioned either, just that’s what I heard. When I talked with Phil in March, he said he wasn’t going to run for any office, although that could have changed.

Joe American, I had forgotten about Tom Carnahan. I’d heard rumors earlier, than they dried up.

Nathan Brown has announced he’s running for first ward over on QCI’s blog. So there are some, I’m sure more will be added as elections get closer.

Is there a certain time we normally hear by? Afterall the election is just a little over 4 months away. I guess no one really wants to say they are running until they know first who else is…

    Robin,
I contacted Alderman Meyer and he said that the first day to file is August 13, 2007. The last day to file is August 30, 2007 at 5 pm. The petitions are filed with the City Clerk. Thank you Alderman Meyer for again putting up with my questions.

    Cruiser - thanks for asking
